Wotcha 👋 my name’s Ben and I’m a freelance illustrator/animator from the UK who specialises in character design. In 2019, I graduated from the University of Winchester with a BA (Hons) degree in Digital Media Design. Since then I’ve had roles in both web and graphic design, but ultimately have left employment to pursue full-time freelancing in my real areas of focus; 2D illustration and animation.
My biggest influences are cartoons, graffiti and Japanese art. As you will see from my projects, I draw a lot of inspiration from nature, music and video-games.

Most of my work is character-focused, but I’m also available for any kind of illustration e.g. backgrounds, symbols, typography etc.
My turnaround for illustrations ranges from 2-5 days depending on factors such as the desired level of detail, number of characters, background (if necessary) and number of iterations.

animation
I do my animations frame-by-frame which can be pretty time-consuming; this is worth considering if you’re interested as the style is probably best suited to short animations/loops which serve well as accompaniments to music.
My turnaround for animations depends on factors such as frame rate, amount of motion, subjects and overall length. Generally I would say it can range from 1 week to 1 month.
